The Long Way

Chris was driving to a friend’s house last week to help fix a sink, but was distracted and missed his turn to get there faster.

Not too long ago, he would have been frustrated. I can tell his growth in trusting the Holy Spirit, because this time he just kept going, even though it was the “long way” to get to his destination.

Not long after the missed turn, there was a lady who had a flat tire. He stopped and changed it for her, recalling that if he hadn’t been distracted, she would still be stranded.

How many times have we been frustrated when things don’t go the way we think it should? Sometimes our frustration distracts us of the present situation that God has given to us and we miss opportunities to love.

In the end, Chris was grateful to be used and was reminded again of Who really is in charge.

Jesus, we trust in you!

God bless you all!
